Training Quizzes
Training quizzes are assessments attached to training documents that verify a trainee’s understanding of the material. Administrators create quizzes using the Quiz Setup Wizard, and trainees complete them as part of the training completion workflow.
Create a quiz (administrators)
Section titled “Create a quiz (administrators)”The Quiz Setup Wizard is a three-step dialog for creating quizzes associated with a specific document.
Step 1: Set basic information
Section titled “Step 1: Set basic information”- On a document detail page, open the Quiz Setup Wizard.
- In the Quiz Title field, enter a descriptive name for the assessment.
- Optionally, in the Description field, enter a brief description of what the quiz covers.
- In the Passing Score (%) field, enter the minimum percentage to pass (default: 80%).
- In the Attempts Allowed field, enter how many times a trainee can attempt the quiz (default: 3, max: 10).
- Optionally, in the Time Limit (minutes) field, enter a time constraint. Leave blank for unlimited time.
- Optionally, from the Competency Level dropdown, select the target level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert (default: Intermediate).
- Optionally, select the Enable Adaptive Difficulty checkbox to adjust question difficulty based on trainee performance.
- Select Next.
Step 2: Add questions
Section titled “Step 2: Add questions”You must add at least one question before proceeding.
- In the Question Text field, enter the question.
- From the Question Type dropdown, select: Multiple Choice, True/False, Short Answer, or Essay.
- For Multiple Choice questions, enter at least 2 answer options. Select Add Option to include more options.
- In the Correct Answer field, enter or select the correct response.
- Optionally, from the Difficulty dropdown, select Easy, Medium, or Hard (default: Medium).
- Optionally, in the Points field, enter the point value (default: 1).
- Optionally, in the Explanation field, enter an explanation shown to the trainee after quiz completion.
- Select Add Question.
The question appears in the list above with badges showing its type, difficulty, and point value.
Edit a question
Section titled “Edit a question”- In the question list, select Edit on the question you want to modify.
- The question loads back into the form. Make your changes.
- Select Update Question.
Remove a question
Section titled “Remove a question”- In the question list, select the trash icon on the question you want to remove.
- Select Next.
Step 3: Review and create
Section titled “Step 3: Review and create”- Review the summary of all quiz settings and questions.
- Select Create Quiz.
The quiz is immediately associated with the document and available for trainees.
Take a quiz (trainees)
Section titled “Take a quiz (trainees)”Trainees encounter quizzes during the training completion workflow.
Before starting
Section titled “Before starting”A pre-quiz screen shows the quiz title, number of questions, passing score, time limit (if set), attempts allowed, and instructions.
- Select Start Assessment.
During the quiz
Section titled “During the quiz”The quiz interface displays:
- A header with the quiz title, current question number (for example, “Question 2 of 5”), and countdown timer (if time-limited)
- A progress bar showing how far through the quiz you are
- The question text with a difficulty badge and point value
- Answer options that vary by question type:
- Multiple Choice: Radio buttons for each option
- True/False: Two radio buttons (True and False)
- Short Answer: A text input field
- Essay: A multi-line text area
- Select your answer for the current question.
- Select Next Question to advance. You can also select Previous to go back to an earlier question.
Submit the quiz
Section titled “Submit the quiz”- On the last question, select Submit Assessment.
Review results
Section titled “Review results”After submission, a results screen shows:
- Your percentage score
- Pass or Fail status (green or red)
- Competency level achieved (if applicable)
- Points earned, total points, and time spent
- A question-by-question review with correct/incorrect indicators and explanations (if provided)
