Notifications & Preferences

The notification system keeps you informed about events across all quality modules. The Notification Center aggregates alerts, while the Notification Preferences page lets you control what you receive and how often.

  1. In the application header, select the bell icon.
  2. The Notification Center opens, showing all notifications with a total count badge.
  3. Each notification displays:
    • Subject and body describing the event
    • Timestamp of when the notification was generated
    • A resource type badge (document, deviation, capa, audit)
    • A New badge for unread items (highlighted with a blue background)
  1. In the Notification Center, select one of the filter tabs at the top:
    • All — shows every notification
    • Unread — shows only notifications you have not yet read
    • Read — shows only previously read notifications
  1. Select any notification in the list.
  2. The system navigates directly to the related resource (document, deviation, CAPA, or audit).
  3. The notification is automatically marked as read.
  1. In the Notification Center header, select Mark All Read.
  2. All notifications are marked as read in a single action.
  1. When you have more than 50 notifications, use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of the list to navigate between pages.

  2. The preferences page organizes settings by category: Training, Quality, Audit, and Equipment.
  1. Under each category, locate the channel you want to configure:
    • Email — notifications to your registered email address
    • In-App — notifications within the EQMS application
    • SMS — text message notifications (if configured)

Practical example: Configuring notifications for a Production Supervisor

Section titled “Practical example: Configuring notifications for a Production Supervisor”

Scenario: A Production Supervisor wants to receive immediate alerts for critical quality events but avoid being overwhelmed by routine training reminders.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Under the Quality category:
    • Enable Email and In-App channels.
    • Set both to Immediate frequency. This ensures deviation reports, CAPA assignments, and document approvals arrive instantly.
  3. Under the Training category:
    • Enable In-App only (clear the Email checkbox).
    • Set frequency to Weekly Digest. The supervisor will receive a single weekly summary of training assignments and completions rather than individual alerts for each of the 40+ operators on their team.
  4. Under the Audit category:
    • Enable Email with Immediate frequency to catch audit finding notifications quickly.
    • Enable In-App with Immediate frequency as a backup.
  5. Under the Equipment category:
    • Enable Email with Daily Digest frequency. Calibration due dates and maintenance alerts are consolidated into one daily email each morning.
  6. Select Save Preferences.

With this configuration, the supervisor receives instant alerts for quality events that may require production holds, a weekly digest for training oversight, and a daily equipment summary — reducing notification volume while ensuring nothing critical is missed.
